Unitree G1: what it can do and what it suits

The humanoid we bring to events. Specifications, abilities and limits – no embellishment.
What the G1 is
The Unitree G1 is a compact humanoid robot from the Chinese company Unitree Robotics, introduced in May 2024 as a more affordable humanoid for research, education and development. It is about 130 cm tall and weighs around 35 kg.
Key specifications
- Height about 130 cm, weight around 35 kg
- 23 degrees of freedom in the base version, up to 43 in higher versions
- Battery for about 2 hours (we bring spares to events)
- Cameras and sensors, operator control and pre-programmed sequences
What it suits at events
- Welcoming guests, handshakes, waving
- Short choreographies and dance numbers
- Group photos with guests
- Demonstrations and talks at schools and workshops
Limits we talk about openly
The G1 is not an autonomous helper that serves guests by itself. At events it is always controlled by an operator, we plan the programme in blocks because of battery life, and it needs a level floor. It cannot carry heavy objects and does not speak on its own – lines are prepared in advance.
